Changes the fields you send. Omitted fields stay as they are. The body must include at least one field.

Use POST /organizations when the source system owns the whole record and you have an external_reference. Use PATCH for a single correction, such as marking a company inactive.

The same completeness rule as create still applies after the merge. Changing an AMC's phone to blank returns 422 / validation_error. A lender may have those fields blank.

Sending contacts replaces the match logic used on upsert: included contacts are updated or created, and contacts absent from the array are not deleted.

Response is the organization object with action: "updated". Webhook: organization.upserted.
